CHOOSING YOUR CLEANSER
First things first avoid a harsh cleanser, or a cleanser that contains sulphates.
For acne prone skin, make sure to choose an exfoliating cleanser. This is to remove debris from the skin and keep your pores unclogged.
This is likely to include salicylic acid or retinol to maintain your skin texture and consistency.
For dry skin, choose a cleanser that contains emollients such as Shea butter, petroleum jelly and coconut oil.
These help absorb and retain moisture in the skin.
For sensitive skin make sure to use cleansers that are fragrance-free,paraben-free, and that are hypoallergenic so that they do not irritate your skin.
A good cleanser for your skin will not leave you feeling dry or irritated but will rather leave you feeling fresh and clean as well as hydrated.
Most importantly, make sure which ever cleanser you settle for sits comfortably within your budget so that you can replace a new bottle when you run out. (Consistency is KEY!)
It is also essential to try a new product as a patch on the back of your hands first and then use for a period of one month and see how well it works, If you are not impressed with the results, you can go ahead and try another until you find your perfect match.
In our next post we’ll be sharing how to choose your moisturizer and the next, all the steps in between!
